Just Curious

How long do you want your locks to get? I think I will let mine reach my waist and then I will either keep them there or cut them to mid back/bra strap length. My mom on the other hand just got her cut again on Saturday to a cute short layered look. Perhaps I'll take some pics and post them. Anyway, let me know what you think you'll do with your locks.

My locs fall to my lower back ( a little bit shorter in front). My cutting point is when it reaches to my rear. I sometimes feel it's too long now and feel like cutting it. Since I'm not completely sure I'm ready I keep it curled which brings most pieces to my bra strap.

I hardly even style mine. It has to be something that I can do without the dryer. I sit under the dryer long enough to get most of the water out, but not long enough to do anything else. If I do anything it is a braid out, and that consist of braid it and wearing a headwrap for a few days to let it set. You locks are beautiful.

I've never considered how long I want my loc's to get. I like having different styling options so I think mid back would be long enough for me, especially being older.

new2locs,
you made me have to look at your blog when you said you were older. I understand the styling part, but you haven't reached older yet. LOL I used to style my hair a lot, but now I'm just lazy. This morning my husband told me that he liked my hair...it's in a low ponytail. How blessed am I? LOL

When my locs pass 1" of my bra. LOL! That is it! That is the length I wore my hair when I was loose. Anything pass that is over kill for me! Mid back locs are enough length to style your locs the way you may want them.

I want the front of my locs to catch up with the back and sides, and come down below my chin. get a little thicker and fill in the few gaps i have in some places. Hopefully before this winter the back will cover my neck to at least to the middle of my back I don't think I want any longer than that. I'm going to start back on my biotin, my hair really grows with that stuff, but it makes my nails grow too and I like them short.

Kumina, I have heard a lot about biotin. I need to look into that. I like my nails long, but I cut them all if one breaks.

NubianLockedPrincess, your hair grows like a weed so you will probably reach your goal next week. LOL

I'd really like for them to cover the "girls" so I guess that would be just a bit below bra strap. lol Never had hair past shoulder length and that was only in the back, so really anything past that will be a bonus for me.

My longest lock is just below my shoulder and my shortest lock is at my temple. At this point my mind says let them grow to the floor. But, I know, when they start to get heavy and/or I am not able to do a beautiful updo, here come the scissors.

When I initially loc'd I said I would never cut them and just let them grow to their heart's content. Now that my hair is past my shoulders I'm thinkin mid-back at most. Just the other day, while washing my hair, I noticed how heavy it was..

I think I will let them grow as long as I can stand them and then cut them to about shoulder length.

I just want my locks to grow and grow and grow. I've never experienced thick, bouncey, long healthy hair(of my own...lol) but if I had to put a length on it, I'll reevaluate it when it reaches my bra strap. I'm now 13 months into my journey, 47 yrs old and it's at my neck.
